Just a nought, a cipher, that’s all I am!

Face

I see it when it is not in front of me
And even when the bearer is hiding it from me

I see it in the morning when my eyes see their first sight
Till the evening when the sun sets & sets the last ray of light

I see it when I’m sipping on a hot mug of coffee
Or when spiced with ginger and mint is half a cup of tea

I see it when a cook grinds cinnamon and clove
Or when a roasting chapatti swells on a burning stove

I see it in the fragrance of a freshly mown lawn
And clearly if there is fog and dew that very morn

I see it when I hear the rustle of the leaves
Or when I smell the scent that the hot earth, when wet, brews

I see it in the sound of bells from the distant temples
Or when in the noise of crowd, I hear the chime of bangles

I see it in my mind residing in every thought
Sometimes weaving a poetry, sometimes a fairytale plot

I see it in the starlit sky, stretched on the Milky Way
And in my dreams I see it, when my eyes closed stay

In brightest light I see it, I see it in darkness
It is all that I see now, it is your shining face

I am lost
In the heap of myself
Squeezed to nothing
And stretched to infinity
All strangled up in myself
Twisted and knotted
Every bit incomprehensible

I am thrown beyond the end
In the confinements of infinity
Seeking a crowded solitude
Flying among the forces of gravity
Falling from elevations unreachable
Drowning into depths unsinkable

I am but a dispersed flare
Or am I an extinguished inferno
A glowing darkness, a singing silence
A tower sans base, a corner of a sphere
A thought never conveyed
A language never expressed
I am a blot of wisdom insane

I have no value, no significance
No identity, no existence
I am no matter, no vacuum
No mass, no energy
Just a nought, a cipher
That’s all I am!
